Big data refers to such collection of data that are so huge in volume or complex in variety that they cannot be processed using conventional data processing applications.
Big data is usually characterized by 5 Vs: that are Volume (the size of data), Variety (the type and nature of the data), Velocity (the speed at which data is generated and required to be processed), Variability and Veracity.
IEEE is organizing a workshop on Big Data that will target the beginners in Data Science subject to explore Big Data and related technologies.
