For the first time MakerFest has made its way towards Pakistan and what better than in Lahore. The MakerFest events are internationally celebrated every year around the world in Europe, America, Africa and certain parts of Asia. The MakerFest in Pakistan is just an imitation of these events that take place every year around the world.
MakerFest Lahore is organizing an event on the 27th-28th October to showcase projects that are inspired from Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM). The community envisions to showcase all the projects as an exhibition to promote the hard work of the locals.
The MakerFest is a community that helps you showcase your talents and share them in society. Either you work on technical projects, promote Art and Crafts or a new entrepreneur finding your way in the society. MakerFest provides you a platform to share what you love to do. The organization is bent upon to promote innovative ideas from any age and part of the country. The society tends to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community throughout the Country. They are empowering our youth to build a future in a way they would like to.
The theme of this year’s MakerFest is based on Indus Valley Civilization. The makers are celebrating the Indus Valley cultural, and all the innovative projects associated with it. The aim to promote all the local creative innovative projects that support the theme of “Do-It-Yourself” culture that supports innovation and creativity in all sorts of departments. The Event will celebrate 100 maker’s projects and promote them in the Makers community.
MakerFest Lahore is being organized by the Society of Advancement of Makers, Arts and Justice (SAMAAJ). The event will be held on the 27th-28th of October 2017. This two-day event will include workshops, film screening, performances, an exhibition of 100 makers, and talk sessions. The event will start both days at 10:00 am and end at 8:30 pm. This event will be held at Faletti’s Hotel, Lahore.
The First Day of Event will feature sessions on Indus Valley civilization, start-up ecosystem, creative freedom, workshops on ceramic and puppet making, 3D printing and design etc.
The Second Day of Event will feature sessions on books, film, performing arts and music performances while workshops on arts and solar energy.
