Celebrating Faiz International Festival-2017

Spreading the message of our Revolutionary Urdu Poet, Faiz Ghar announces a 3 days annual gathering at Al Humra Arts Centre Lahore. An event that invites all those interested in Arts, Music, and Literature. Every year Faiz International Festival is hosted in order to increase knowledge and guidance for our youth. Faiz Ghar is a group of people organized to spread the message of the great Poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz (1911-1984). Faiz Ghar hosts this event and many others annually to spread the message of Arts, Music and Literature. This annual gathering includes Musical evenings, Talk shows, Male/Female political talk sessions, Theatre performances and much more.

 

Faiz International Festival

Faiz International Festival is a gathering of many re-known Local and International artists, politicians, singers, poets and leaders. The Faiz International festival gives a platform to young artists that are looking forward to show their talents and win appraisal on the right platform. Not only is the Festival an important and inspirational platform but a way in which one expresses its enthusiasm for poetry, literature, music and culture.

Bol Urdu Debate

The Faiz International Festival will be hosting an Urdu Debate Competition. This competition invites students from all the universities, colleges and schools to come and join. The Government College University Lahore is the first member that is participating in the competition. Faiz Ghar looks forward to host all those invested in this part of the festival.

Who was Faiz?

Faiz Ahmed Faiz was a Pakistani intellectual, revolutionary poet, and one of the most celebrated writers of the Urdu language. Faiz was also wrote in Punjabi language. He was nominated four times for the Nobel Prize of literature.
His major literary works: Naqsh-e-Faryadi (1943), Dast-e-Saba (1952), Zindan-Nama (1956), Dast-e-Tah-e-Sung (1965), Mere Dil Mere Musafir, Sar-e-Wadi-e-Sina and Nuskha Haa-e-Wafa is a combination of all these works.

This year the festival is looking forward to following guests.

• Zehra Nigah will talk about Urdu poetry.
• Parwaris-e-Loh-o-Qalam. 70 years of fiction Mustansar Hussain Tarar, Moderator: Amna Mufti.
• Tine Sani will be singing Live.
• Nahel Al Halabi, a music composer & conductor from Syria will present his work in collaboration with Nafees Ahmed, a versatile sitar player from Pakistan.
• Tanya Wells and Paulo Vinicius will sing Faiz.
• Sarmad Khoosat will moderate three sessions during the Festival.
• Asghar Nadeem Syed. Moderator: Amna Mufti (Umr-e-Guzishta ki Kitab)
• Saife Hassan, Shama Askari, Asma Mundrawala, Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and many others.
