ECAT 2020 will be conducted as a paperless exam by University of Engineering & Technology (UET) this year. The decision has been finalized in a meeting held at UET Lahore’s Vice Chancellor’s office. A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by VC UET Prof.Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar and VC Virtual University of Pakistan (VUP) Mr. Naeem Tariq. It has been announced that ECAT 2020 will be conducted as a computer based test in all across Punjab under auspices of UET Lahore. VUP will collaborate to provide state-of-the-art computer labs across the region for successful execution of first paperless ECAT in the year 2020.
What is UET ECAT?
Engineering Colleges Admission Test aka UET ECAT is conducted once each year by UET for admission in various engineering institutes of Punjab. Other then main campus and sub campuses of UET itself, test score is considered valid and accepted as a standard by various renowned private and public sector engineering universities and colleges of Pakistan. Test score is combined with the F.Sc. marks to calculate the aggregate score which is then used to compute merit for admission. ECAT 2020 expected dates
ECAT is expected in the second or third week of July this year. Registration applications for which will most probably be started from the start of June.

ECAT 2020 eligibility criteria
ECAT applicant must has a minimum score of 60% marks in F.Sc/ ICS / DAE / B.Sc / B.Tech (excluding NCC, Sports and Hafiz-e-Quran). 20 marks are added to the final academic score in HSSC (or equivalent examination) of an applicant who is Hafiz-e-Quran after the verification from a committee. Applicant should appear the in test for the particular academic year. Detailed criteria is given below.
