‘Google for Publishers’: First tech talk of Google held at IBA Karachi

Earlier this week the news of Google’s maiden visit to Pakistani Universities was in the air. Institute of Business Administration Karachi was the first station of their scheduled series. IBA (Main Campus) Karachi successfully hosted Google team from Singapore on Tuesday, 30 August 2016 from 2 PM – 5PM. This was Google’s first ever tech talk visit to Pakistan and IBA Karachi was first of the eight stations of this Google Publishing Pakistan Series. A huge audience of students, publishers, bloggers and developers attended the session. Almost 1100 people benefitted from the talk.

Talk Highlights

Google Singapore Team discussed their monetization products, Google AdMob & AdSense. Mr. Waqas Burney, who is Manager (web) in South Asia Region at Google Singapore, discussed how using AdSense can make money out of your blog or website. How publishers and bloggers can earn money from 100 to 50k dollars a month. It was also highlighted that major organisations are using Google AdSense like Jang News Group and Dawn. He also informed useful tips on how togain more traffic on your website/blog.

Mr. Ahmed Nawaz, who is Manager(Apps) in South Asia Region at Google Singapore, addressed a session about Google AdMob and discussed how to earn money from apps in a smart way. He also discussed the success stories of Angry Birds and Muslim Pro.

Some inspirational success stories were shared with audience in the form of short videos.
