GC University, Faisalabad is offering a hands on training course in biotechnology. Course is entitled as Molecular Methods in Biotechnology. It is being offered by Department of Bioinformatics & Biotechnology , GC University Faisalabad. This department has also arranged a Symposium on Advancements in Biotechnology. Department has a mission to provide a learning and training environment with a life science approach that prepares students for higher education to reach the forefronts of leadership by developing the computational methods to conduct research in key areas of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology.
It is 2nd National Training Course on “Molecular Methods in Biotechnology” & 3rd Symposium on “Advancements in Biotechnology”. Out of 25 participants, 15 participants (preferably PhD students) will be selected from Universities of less developed areas. The participants will work together for 5 days, this interaction will lead towards the development.
Eligibility Criteria
MS/PhD scholars & researchers with background in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Food Sciences, Zoology, Biochemistry, , Medical Sciences, Bioinformatics, Environmental Sciences, Agriculture Botany or equivalent disciplines Maximum anticipated participants: 25.
Tentative Course Content
Phylogenetic analyses and Phylogenetic tree construction, DNA quantification, Isolation and purification of microorganisms, Identification of microorganisms, Polymerase Chain Reaction, ligation into vectors, Extraction genomic DNA from plant, Transformation of recombinant vectors to E. coli, Screening of positive transform ants.
